Description
Fast and fabulous
On a recent trip to the Scottish Highlands, my husband and I hiked to the lookout atthe top of Struie Hill. Bordered by rolling slopes of purple heather and feathery ferns, the rocky path led to a breathtaking view of Dornoch Firth. These mitts remind me of that wonderful view: the winding path, the purple sides of Struie Hill, and the jewel-like waters of Dornoch Firth, home to salmon, seals, and even dolphins!

Worked wrist to fingers, this pattern features a cable and lace motif that is maintained across the back of the wrist and hand from start to finish. On the palm side, a garter strip borders a simple ribbing that is also continued from wrist to fingers and provides a stretchy, versatile fit. The upper portion of the thumb is worked last. Two top cuff lengths (short and long) are included in the instructions. The wrist cuff length can be altered by adding or subtracting a pattern rep before starting the thumb gusset.
